Run-on Sentences

A run-on sentence occurs when two independent clauses run together without proper punctuation or appropriate conjunctions.

Incorrect:

Raffi sings upbeat children's songs he is an excellent musician.

Correcting the Problem

Correct:

Raffi sings upbeat children's songs; he is an excellent musician.
